Story of The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021):

The plot of Conjuring 3 is very different from the previous films as it is based on a real story. The film will tell us the story of a chilling murder trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson. This event took place in Connecticut in 1981. The trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson is a popular court case known as ‘The Devil Made Me Do It.’

It was a nice day in February of that year and Arne Cheyenne Johnson was having an argument with his landlord Alan Bono. Suddenly Johnson stabbed Alan Bono with a five-inch pocket knife in his chest. The man died within an hour. The police arrested Johnson and put him into the cell. After some months during his trial, he denied his crime and said that it was not him who stabbed his landlord. He also said that ‘The devil made me do it’. He claimed to be possessed by a demon who forced him to commit the crime. Attorney Martin Minella said that his defendant was possessed and he could prove it.

Actually, he was possessed by a demon who fled into Johnson from David Glatzel. David was Johnson’s fiancé’s little brother. He was only eleven years old. David was having a lot of trouble with the demons. So, Ed and Lorraine were called to look into the matter. Ed and Lorraine along with three other priests held exorcism. The had three exorcism sessions with David. They claimed that there were 43 demons in David. They also got the hint that the demons would cause a great crime like murder. During one of David’s exorcism sessions, Johnson made a huge mistake. He suddenly shouted out and said, “Take me on, leave my little buddy alone.” After a few days, the demon attacked Johnson.

Lorraine and Ed claimed that Johnson was possessed while committing the crime but the judge rejected the defense for being irrelative and unscientific. The jury sentenced him for 10-20 years but he only served for five years.
